PREPARATION: T: English 9 (students’ book and exercise book) Ss: Read the lesson and do the exercises in Unit. III. PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Content 1.Warm up: 5’ -Have Ss answer the questions about Malaysia. -Check. -Answer the questions. -Correct. -How many regions is Malaysia divided into? -What is the capital of Malaysia? -What is the national language? 2.Pre-writing: 10’ -Introduce the situation. -Guide Ss to write each paragraph. -Note Ss to use tenses: past simple present perfect and future. -Remark Ss some difficult structures. 3.While-writing:20’ -Have Ss work in groups. -Go around and help if necessary. -Check the letters. -Take notes. -Tell the way to use the tenses. -Write with suggested ideas in groups. -Check each other. “ Imagine you are visiting your relatives or friends in another part of Viet Nam or in a different country. Write a letter to your family.” *Outline + First paragraph + Second paragraph + Third paragraph *Suggested ideas + First paragraph I arrived at Ho Chi Minh bus station at 2 pm /8 am on Tuesday/ Sunday. Nam/ My Uncle met me here, then he took me home by car/ motorbike. +Second paragraph I’ve visited many beautiful places such as Dam Sen Park, Suoi Tien, the water Park I’ve tried different foods. I’ll visit Vung Tau beach tomorrow on Sunday morning + Third paragraph I feel so happy and enjoy myself so much. The people are kind and friendly. The foods are delicious and the sights are beautiful. I will leave Ho Chi Minh city on next Thursday/ Sunday and will arrive home at 5 pm Please pick me up at the bus station. 4. Post-writing:7’ - Have Ss read the letters in front of the class. - Check. 5.Homework:3’ -Ss write a complete letter into their exercise notebooks. -Ss prepare “Language focus” +Use the simple past. +Use the verb “wish” IV. B: He saw it on Saturday afternoon at two o’clock. 2).Write the things Lan and her friends did not to prepare for the party. (1). Lan made a cake for Maryam. (2). Hoang hung colorful lamps around the room. (3). Mai bought some flowers for Maryam. (4) Giang painted a pictures of Ha Noi. (5).They went shopping to buy foods for the party. 3). Write wishes you want to make in these situations. *Example. a. I wish I were taller. b. I wish I were at the swimming pool now. c. I wish I had a computer. d. I wish I lived closer to school. I wish I didn’t live so far from school. e. I wish I had a sister. f. I wish I drew well. g. I wish I had my friend’s phone number. h. I wish I knew many friends. i. I wish there were some rivers and lakes in my home town. 3.
