Skills: Focus on developing writing skill. 3. Attitute: Write the story hard and listen to their teacher. II. Teaching Aids : Teacher: Extra boards and lesson plan. Students: textbooks, notebooks.. III. Proceduces : Teacher ’s activities Students ’ activities Content 1. Warm- up ( 5mins). - Call Ss to go to the board. - Check and give marks. - Read the text, write new words and answer the questions. - Experience. You want to visit the water falls and famous flower gardens in Viet Nam. - Where should you go? - How can you get there? 2. Pre – writing (8mins) - Introduce the situation. - Ask Ss to skim the passage. - Explain and help Ss to understand a narrative. - Pick out some new words. - Remember. - Notice some new words. - Answer some questions from the passage. - Write down. * Vocabulary. - canoe (n) - (to) paddle (v) - (to) hire (v) - (to) overturn (v) - (to) rescue (v) - (to) stumble (v) - (to) go off (v) - (to) realize (v) * Read the first part of a story about traveling around Viet Nam. +Where did the Browns go last week? +What was the weather like? 3. While- writing (27mins) - Have Ss put the sentences in the correct chronologicals order to complete the story. - Go around and give help. - Ask Ss to show their answers. - Correct and give feedback. - Have Ss write the story. - Ask Ss to stick their writing on the board. - Correct their mistakes. - Work in groups. - Complete the story. - Exchange with other groups. - Each group shows their answers on the board. - Take notes. - Read the story loudly in front of class. 1)Now, put the sentences below in the correct chronological order to complete the story. 1-c 2-a 3-g 4-d 5-f 6-b 7-e 2)Put the events below in the correct chronological order and write the story. Start with the sentence below. d-b-e-h-a-f-c-g Uyen had a day to remember last week. She had a math exam last Friday, so she had to stay up late the night before to do her exercises. She got up late the next morning. She realized that her alarm clock didn’t go off. As she was leaving, it started to rain heavily. Uyen tried to run as she could, Suddenly she stumbled over a rock and fell down. Her schoolbag dropped into a pool and everything got wet. The rain stopped as she got to the classroom. Luckily, Uyen had enough time to finish her exam. 4. Post- writing (4mins) - Ask Ss some questions. - Give feedback. - Give some more information. - Answer. - Take notes - Practice writing another narrative. -Which tense is used in the story? ( For not good students ) -When it starts to rain, what does Uyen do? ( For good students ) 5. Knowledge: students will be able to know the form and how to use of ‘ed’ and ‘ing’ participles. And review the request with would / do you mind 2. Skills: Reading and writing skills. 3. Attitute: Listen to their teacher and study hard. II. Teaching aids: 1. Teacher: Extra boards and lesson plan. 2. Students: textbooks, notebooks.. III. Procedures: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Content 1. Warm - up: ( 5mins ) - Call one student to state the trip recently. - State the trip recently. Talk about the trip recently 2. Practice: ( 32mins ) - Introduce ‘ing’ participles (active participle), ‘ed’ participles (passive participle) - Have students look at the picture and say who each person is, using ‘ing’ participle - Call some students to read the completed sentences. - Have students do exercise 2. use the past participles of the verbs in the box to describe the goods for sale in the picture - Give examples - Have students compare the answer - Call some students to read the answers - Give the feed back. - Remind the form and use Would / Do you mind if ? Would / Do you mind + V-ing? - Have students do exercise 3 work with a partner, use the words to make and respond to requests - Call some pairs to practice the dialogue in front of class - Give eliciting answer - Remind the structure Would / Do you mind if - Have students do exercise 4, practice with a partner, give requests base on the picture and responds. - Call some pairs to write the completed sentences. Ex: The old lamp made in China is five dollars. The doll dressed in red is two dollars. The toys animals kept in a card board are 10 dollars. The flowers wrapped in blue paper in one dollar. The truck made from recycled practice matter is 2 dollars. The box painted green is 1 dollar 3. Would you mind moving your car? No, of course not Would you mind putting out your cigarette? Consolidation: ( 6 mins ) - Have students made 2 sentences using ‘ing’ participles and ‘ed’ participles. - Have students use the structure: ‘Do you mind / would you mind + V-ing? . Do / Would you mind if I .. and make requests. - Make 2 sentences . - Use the structure: ‘Do you mind / would you mind + V-ing? . Do / Would you mind if I .. and make requests. * Make 2 sentences using ‘ing’ participles and ‘ed’ participles. ( For good students ) * Make sentences with “ Do/Would you mind ?” ( For not good students ) * Make sentences with “ Do/Would you mind If S + V ?” ( For good students ) 5. Practice (32mins) - Guide Ss how to do the exercises. -Have Ss practice some exercises. - Go around and give help. - Ask Ss to write the answers on the board. - Check and correct their mistakes. 3. Consolidation: (6mins) - Have Ss complete the sentences by choosing. - Show the correct answers. - Give feedback. - Know how to do - Work in pairs. -Exchange the answers. - Supply the correct form of verbs. - Read the completed sentences. - Choose the best answer to complete the sentences. - Take notes and copy down. - Experience.
