1) Warm up(7’) :
 - Asks 2 Ss to think of the ways to reduce the amount of garbage 
 Every body produces.
 + We should use cloth bags instead of plastic bags.
+ We should also use tree leaves to wrap things.
+ We should use vegetable matter to make animal food.
+ We should decompose used things.
2)Presentation (10’) :
- Have Ss say some ways to reduce the amount of garbage 
- Play the tape twice 
- Introduce new words by explanation.
- Guide Ss to read.
3) Practice (20’): 
- Have Ss listen to the tape again
- Ask some groups of Ss role-play to read the dialogue

- Give the task to students
- Explain the task and ask Ss practice in front of class

1. Practice the dialogue with a partner. One of you is Miss.Black. the other plays the roles of Ba, Hoa and Lan.
2. Answers :
a. Reduce means not buying products which are overpackaged.
b.We can reuse things like envelopes, glass, plastic bottles and old plastic bags.
c. Recycle means not throwing things away. Try and find another use for them.
d. We can look for information on recycling things by having a contact with an organization like Friends of the earth, going to the local library, or asking our family and friends.
e. Because we throw garbage away, they could stay very long and couldn’t be destroyed. 
 4) Consolidation (5’):
 - Ss practice reading the dialogue again.
 - Ss practice asking and answering the questions.
 - Have Ss summarize the content of

 - Copy the answers into Ss’ notebooks.
 - Do exercises into exercise book 8.
 - Prepare: Unit 10 “Speak and Listen”.
