Ex: My name is Lan I am in class 8A. I will tell you about my English subject. My speaking and reading are fair but my writing is poor I missed 2 days due to sickness.
2. Pre – reading:15’
- Have students look at the picture and have a guess of the today lesson.
- Write some new words on the board and ask students whether they know those words or not.

We are going to read about the way to learn English vocabulary. You scan the text and underline the words that you don’t know the meanings.

New words:
- mother tongue (n): tiếng mẹ đẻ

3. While - reading:25’
-Ask students what they do with those new words.
-Teacher guides.
These words are not explained now. You read the text again and decide the statements are true or false according to the text and then you try to guess the meaning of the words from context.
-Teacher asks them to compare their answer with their friends.
-Some Ss present their answers before class.

No, learners learn words in different ways.
Because they help them remember the use of new words.
To remember words better. Learns write examples, put the words into the meaning on stickers, underline or highlight them.
They may think they can’t do so instead, they learn only important words.
Revision is necessary in learning words
Learners should try different ways of learning words to find out what is the best.
4. Post - reading: 7’
-Teacher emphasizes on the key point of the lesson.
- Teacher asks them to retell the ways to study vocabulary.
- Listen and remember.
-The Ss retell the ways to study vocabulary.
